[She fidgets, playing with the end of her ponytail a little.]

It was...nice, but I don't know what I should do next. Those novels I found in the library were entertaining, but I don't think they would be any help.

[And Celes must have plenty of experience in this sort of thing by now, right? Right?]

[This is like an adventure in the blind leading the blind. Celes looks a little uncomfortable as she thinks, a slight flush coloring her cheeks.]

Maybe talk to him about how it made you feel? Do you care about him, too?

[The mantra that she's going to kill Edgar if he hurts Terra repeats itself in her head.]

[Terra furrows her brow, twisting that ponytail in her hand.]

Well...I hadn't thought about it before then. We were always busy with other problems and things kept happening to pull me away from home. And I thought after that first time we met that his flirting didn't affect me...because that's what he does, you know? But that time felt...different. Sincere. I hope that's right....

[She gnaws that lower lip.]

I...think I do. If I didn't, I wouldn't have enjoyed any of that...right? But, I'm intimidated. Not by him, but...I don't have any experience in this sort of thing. At all. I don't want to mess it up.

I think it's something you two should talk about. [Kinda like the conversation she and Locke had that very same night.] Just to make sure you're both thinking the same thing.

It's... [She pauses to think of just the right word. Scary. Weird. Strange. Frightening.] -terrifying, isn't it?

[Terra nods readily to that.]

It is, really. Facing monsters is much easier, by comparison.

[She pauses and tilts her head.]

It's intimidating for you, too?

[She's trying so hard not to fidget with her hands!]

It is. Both things are, I mean. [It was funny to her, in a way, that both men had been the ones to take initiative in their respective situations.]

You and Edgar... weren't the only ones in the garden that night.

[Terra blinks, then leans forward.]

Did you receive that message, too?

No, but maybe Locke did... [She shifts.] He said he wanted to go out to the gazebo. I didn't see any problem with it.

And then...?

[That blush is creeping up her cheeks again.] The end result was the same as for you and Edgar, only without the figure in the bushes.

Oh! Well, I'm glad you weren't interrupted like that.

[It had been...awkward, to say the least. She can't help but peer at Celes curiously.]

But...you're both thinking the same thing? It's what you want?

[Celes shifts uncomfortably and nods.]

I think so. I mean, we both do. We... said as much to each other.

[Plus a nice kiss, but it's hard to put that into words, too.]

It was nice spending time with him alone.

I'm glad you two had a good time together.

[She can't help but smile at that.]

He was nervous about dancing with you, earlier in the evening. I hope he got over it.

[She nods, feeling as thought she's taken over the conversation without meaning to!]

He was? He seemed fine. I guess I was too nervous to tell.

[He'd taken the initiative, though, so either he'd gotten over it or it hadn't hindered him too much.]

It was nice, though. I guess it sounds like we all had an exciting night.

[Terra nods to that, a soft smile on her lips.]

It was worth going to, for all I was worried about how I would do at such a grand party.

[She nods in response, smiling. She feels the same.]

You should tell Edgar that.

[He'd probably like it. Talking about it was what Celes figured she should do with Locke again, now that a few days had gone by.]

[Terra nods, a little shy, but warming up to the idea.]

I will...in a bit. I think he's in some sort of meeting right now, but that will have to end at some point.

[Celes smiles a little bit, glad to see Terra opening up.]

Feeling better about it?

I think so, a little. You're right, I should just talk to him. I don't know what will happen after that, but...maybe it will work out, somehow.

[Celes is of the opinion that if she can make it work with Locke, then Edgar and Terra will have no problem at all. They've all been sidestepping each other for a while, after all.]

I guess we'll both have to try.
