[The feed cuts in, showing the underside of a chocobo's foot in extreme close-up - apparently the bird activated it by stepping on it as it moves across the space it's in, a wooden roof being most of what's seen. Just in range of the camera, the bright yellow feathers stop moving and start bobbing as the chocobo nudges something off-screen, giving a soft kweh. A small voice can be heard, trying to sob and trying to stifle it at the same time - she's retreated to where she's unlikely to be found at the discovery.]

H-He's gone... [Sniff, hiccup] Th-Th-They're all g-gone!

[That starts a new set of tears as Refia breaks down crying for real. Alfa nudges her again as she hiccups, letting out another kweh as she settles down next to her mistress, taking her out of the camera view and just leaving the roof. Refia's voice becomes muffled, as if she's buried her face in her chocobo's feathers.]

I-I'm all alone ag-gain... Alfa... what do I d-do?

[It's a good thing Delita had a little sister and knows a little bit about girls as he calmly wraps his arms around her and reassuringly pats her.]

I shall not leave you to be alone.

[He would not have Refia to feel as he did when Tietra left him alone.]

[That DOES cause her to give a little squeak of surprise and sort of wriggle trying to get free, but only at first and only because she was startled. After a moment she goes limp and rests her head on his shoulder, glad she doesn't have to be strong right at the moment.]

I know they're home again... But if they are, why aren't I?

[Delita prepares to release her, yet holds tightly assuring her that she won't simply push him away.]

[Selfish thoughts permeate as he realizes he isn't alone.]

'Tis unknown to myself, yet I am glad you are still here.

...I didn't want to be left behind. I want to see Father again.

[She curls up a little more, hiding her face entirely. She misses Takka - a lot.]

[Remembering that Tietra liked her hair patted back, he gently rubbed her hair.]

I am sure he desires to see you as well, yet know that you are have forged forward.

I don't even know if Ingus can tell him that I'm okay... We don't know anything about what's going on with this, it's all so confusing... Who knows if Ingus even remembers now that he's back.

Surely your Father would trust you to your teachings. I would not worry about my child if I knew I had taught them well.

[Yet his Father and his surrogate Father are both gone.]

I defied him when I ran off all those other times. We'd just started seeing eye to eye, and then...

[That's really her one biggest regret about all this - that she and Takka hadn't had much time to spend together where they weren't arguing or pushing each other around.]

[He brushes his hand across her face, carrying any stray strands of hair with him.]

Surely he shall understand. If you agreed as you thought, I would suspect he will await your return with happiness.

...We only just started agreeing, and I ran away so many times before this... I don't want him to worry.

[Refia sobbed just a little again, hunching up and turning into him a little more.]

And Luneth, and Arc, and Ingus...

[Delita is lying through his teeth, as he offers a rag for Refia to dry her eyes.]

He shall not worry, for your friends will share the truth of your safety.

[At least that statement gets a different reaction as she looked up at him suddenly, ignoring the rag and actually glaring just a little.]

We don't know that! I want it to be true, but we don't know that!

[Delita is running out of patience.]

'Tis understandable these longings for home you portray, but if your Father is as you say your worry is unnecessary.

But what if he's not there or going back erases all of our memories? He'll think I just disappeared again, when I didn't! Not by my own choice!

[She had a point, but Refia could sink into dwelling on something and not letting go of it... She was still working on being brave in the face of trouble on her own, though she was getting better at it.]

Perhaps, yet have you taken thought of his possible arrival here? Would you wish him to find you lamenting in Gaia or a successful synthesist in Lindblum?

[And that causes her to pause. For Takka to arrive here... She hadn't thought of that before, somehow. She'd always assumed she'd go back to him, someday.]

[It takes her a minute to respond, which Delita should probably be grateful for, since it means she's thinking.]

I know... he'd want me to work hard.

[In the pause, he takes time to think as well.]

Are you not working hard? I have seen your work. 'Tis impressive.

Yes, but...

[She trails off on that response, not being able to find what she wants to say or even sure what that is. After a few seconds, she sighs and just... goes limp, leaning forward just a little to support herself against him.]

I'm sorry, I ask you to come and then I yell at you...

[Holding her protectively against him, he raises a hand to soothe her head.]

An apology is unnecessary. 'Tis the least I can do for you.

...Thank you.

[She's just... going to stay here for awhile. This feels safe, like the world isn't constantly shifting around her. She really needs that right now.]

[Sometimes silence and security go a long way, so Delita just sits there holding Refia.]
