[Early in the morning, Mjrn is winding her way around Lindblum's streets. Her spear is in hand, and a backpack hangs from one shoulder. She pays little attention to the noise and bustle of those around her, doing her best to ignore what snatches of conversation reach her ears. Normally bright-eyed and curious about everything, the young Viera seems lost in thought. Even the warbling of the fat little cockatrice accompanying her does not pierce that mental fog.

Despite giving little notice to her surroundings, Mjrn walks with purpose. She pauses only to purchase some fresh fruit and other food for Chit from a startled vendor before moving onward, toward the gate. Even though she was growing accustomed to the noise and numbers of humes and others within the city, Mjrn at the moment just needs to be away. Not even intermittent drizzling or clouds that threaten more of the same are going to keep her from venturing outside the city's walls. As far as the young Viera is concerned, it's time to train.]

[Mjrn nods, glad to see that laughter replacing that forlorn expression, if only for a moment.]

Aye, in a fashion. Her name is Chit, and she is a friend from my world. She is drawn to those who seem to need a little cheer...as I did, when we met.

[A small smile forms, remembering. Chit bumps gently against Aerith and peeps again, her form of greeting.]

[The little cockatrice certainly won a smile from Aerith since it was just too cute to ignore. Kneeling down so she could pet it, she glanced up at Mjrn with a happy smile.]

Really? Aw, that's rather nice of her but Chit has nothing to worry about. I'm alright, really.

[No, she was not alright. Missing both Zack and now Nanaki along with other friends and family was starting to get to her.]

[Chit is perfectly content with the petting, remaining docile until Aerith stops. Mjrn is on the same wavelength as the other young woman, at least about one of those missing people. She nods, though her expression is sympathetic.]

Even so...I am sorry that you are parted from a friend.

[Her voice grows a touch softer.]

I will miss Nanaki, too.

[Letting out a soft sigh once Mjrn spoke, Aerith withdrew her hand from Chit's warm feathers as rose slowly to her feet.] Nanaki, he's strong. Much stronger than I am to overcome so many terrible things...

[She was referring to the mad scientists and all the testing Nanaki endured under both Hojo's and Cidolfus' experiments.]

I..I don't know if I healed him well enough but I just know Nanaki will be okay. I'll miss him a lot but I guess this is for the best.

[Mjrn nods sadly to that, reluctantly agreeing for all that she would like to see him again.]

Before we gathered at Matoya's Cave, Nanaki stated that he believed you had healed him. There was no further complaint, so I believe that to be a good sign. He is strong, and your magic must be strong as well.

That puts my mind at ease, Mjrn because when I first saw him after what that psycho did to him...

[She was still very angry about the experiments Dr. Cid conducted on Nanaki because it proved just how corrupt these men of science really are.]

I was shocked. He was so thin, so fragile. Even the light upon his tail was dimmed along with the gleam within his eyes.

I was terrified but now, now I am hoping for the best.

[Glancing up towards the sky again, a question popped into her mind regarding the long-eared woman beside her.]

...Say, where are you from?

[Mjrn's heart breaks, hearing about Nanaki's appearance after Doctor Cid's abuse. She shudders, able to imagine it quite well, but Aerith's question is a good distraction.]

I am from Ivalice...and before then, the Wood. The Wood is the origin of all Viera.
