[ The feed begins rather abruptly, blinking from black to blessed color near-instantaneously. Standing before what appears to be a desk of some sort before what may very well be a wall of one of the many rooms of the inn in Narshe by the looks of it is none other than the very same previously indignant lady knight who debuted upon the network five days ago; though, any visible trace of said lady knight's prior indignation and overall displeasure has long since been ousted from her expression. The first rays of light have only just entered the room through a nearby window and cast themselves upon the corner in which she stands, lending the blond, the desk, and the mirror atop the desk at her left a soft, golden aura. Agrias is calm, composed, awake and alert, fully dressed, and ready to begin the day despite the early hour because she is. That much, if not clear, may very well become clear as she opens her mouth and speaks ever formally. ]

To those who bore witness to the unsightly behavior captured by this machine some five days past, I offer my humblest apologies. To give you reason for my behavior at that time would be to give you naught but excuses and so, I shall refrain. In place of these, I give you my word that it shall not happen again. Question it you may, for I am a stranger, and this I understand all too well, but know you also that this stranger would prove first her word by her actions. Such is my station. Whatever realm I may walk, it does not change.

There is another matter to which I would draw your attention. Prior to Ser Gabranth's prompt retrieval of my person from this region's wilderness --

[ Although she reaches blindly for the mirror, she finds it as easily as though she had looked when she reached for it. She extends the mirror beyond the sunlight's reach and to the audience. Its casing is red, bright and beautiful -- a shade that appeals to the eye. Upon the casing is an inscription easily read by the audience at that proximity: 'My power is protected high atop a fiery mountain.' Furthermore, the mirror is in pristine condition. ]

-- I happened upon this item held fast by the ice and snow. I know not to whom it belongs, nor how it came to be here, and the townspeople I've asked share my predicament. With the blessings of Lord Larsa and Ser Gabranth, I would see this item returned to its rightful owner. Any assistance offered is appreciated, particularly in relation to the identity and location of the mirror's owner.

[ She pauses now, almost thoughtfully. The mirror has been lowered for some seconds now, held with due care by her gloved hands. ]

Mind, the only compensation I can assure you is my thanks and perhaps that of the owner. Should there be a monetary reward, it shall be split evenly between all involved parties. Be aware, though, that it is not my intention to ask for any such reward.

[ The knight inclines her head towards the audience -- ]

Thank you for your time.

[ -- and the feed cuts out. ]

The Fire Mirror! Well! I can tell you whom you should return that object to, madam. It should go to Alexandria, to the queen.

[ Although her expression does not betray as much, Agrias should have known the mirror would turn out to be something of great import. Such an inscription hardly seemed like something a friend, lover, or family member would have engraved upon a mirror of all things and would make for a poor trademark in the case of any smith. It's too cryptic. ]

I would not deprive your queen of that which is rightfully hers. Alexandria, you say?

Yes, Alexandria, on the Mist Continent. Are you close, by any chance?

I would not know, ser, as I am recently arrived in this la -- world. I presently reside in the coal mining village of Narshe. Upon which continent, I know not, for my knowledge of this world beyond the area immediately surrounding this village is limited.

[ Agrias pauses, albeit briefly. Judging from the manner of his speech, it is urgent that this 'Fire Mirror' be returned to the Queen of Alexandria, and swiftly; though, she has not forgotten the other task she need complete prior to departing from this snow-laden village. It must be done today, she thinks, and her departure from Narshe occur promptly on the morrow. But first things first... ]

Know you the distance between them, ser?

Narshe is on the Lost Continent... That is very far from Alexandria, half a world away. I fear you will have a long journey, but if you wish to travel quickly, I can help you.

I will not be able to depart from Narshe until the morrow as there is a matter to which I absolutely must see before my departure. I mean no offense, but 't is a matter of honor that detains me.

Should this prove not an issue to you, I would gladly accept your aid.

There is no need to apologize, good ser, for I am at fault as well. I am Agrias Oaks, a captain of the Lionsguard of the kingdom of Ivalice.

[ She inclines her head slightly forward to the captain as a smile spreads across her face. Up unto this point during her stay in Gaia, she had foregone the inclusion of her rank, but having heard one similar, she sees no reason not to share it. That she is a knight is a given and -- ]

Aye, he did, and for that I am grateful. 'T would seem this region's climate and I are inclined to disagree with one another.

[ She pauses, albeit briefly, contemplating the identity of this man. His is not a voice she has heard before; yet, he speaks of Judge Magister Gabranth familiarly. If he is who she thinks he may very well be... ]

Forgive me my poor manners. I am Agrias Oaks, a knight of the Lionsguard of the kingdom of Ivalice, and you? You are Lord Larsa Ferinas Solidor, are you not?

[ It's likely a very good thing that they are communicating using the machine's voice function and not its video function as Agrias' expression is quite visibly upset. The society of the Ivalice she knows is strict about people's adherence to formalities, and knights expected to be stricter still about such things. That she should call him by his given name, and so soon is... something she resolves to avoid and mostly mask first and foremost. Better to contemplate how best to respond than to allow words at random out of her mouth. ]

There is no need to apologize, ser. None whatsoever. I fear, though, that I know naught of the Archadian nobility. The Ivalice from whence I hail is in fact a kingdom united, Ivalice being the name she proudly bears. From her nobility do I hail; though... if you speak of the Ivalice from whence Marquis Ondore and a majority of others to whom I've spoken do hail, there may yet be some connection yet to be ascertained.

[ And here she pauses, entirely uncertain as to how to proceed with her inquiry. Rarely is it that she is caught off-guard about such matters, but this Lord Larsa has more than managed the task. What surprise now tinges her tone betrays her and the near-unfamiliar state in which she has found herself. Her tone, too, betrays a gentle curiosity distinct in that, while gentle, it lacks what appall should be innate. (On the contrary, it's almost... refreshing, this change, if not somewhat boggling -- not to mention forbidden by social rules -- to the lady knight's mind.) To address one by his or her given name is to address him or her familiarly after all and she is... quite certain that they are not familiar with one another. The continued formality within his speech, too, is indicative of a greater rank. (Perhaps she should have asked Ser Gabranth over what Larsa Ferrinas Solidor lords. Unfortunately, it is a bit late to do so now.) ]

Ah... you are certain? Regarding your given name, that is.

I must confess these names to be foreign to me. The kingdom of my birth did hold me fast before Gaia saw fit to claim my person. The most prominent nations with which I am familiar are Romanda to the north beyond the Rhana Strait and Ordallia, which lies to the west. Ivalice herself has called the headland of the westernmost part of the continent home for some generations... since she was united under the noble House Aktascha, now her Crown. In the distant past, war saw her turn inward, even more so now.

[ She pauses a brief moment, considering his words. ] Though it is tempting to forsake my station regarding the matter, I would earn that honor. [ That might be something like a smile spreading across her face, seeping into her voice and tone; though, she is not particularly quick to notice and correct it. ] Perhaps in time, Lord Larsa.

Well, well, well...

It seems as though that mirror is one of many found within the lands of Gaia. That one is different in hue but similar in style. 'Tis an artifact, no less. Perhaps it's key of some kind to a greater treasure but I know not.

However, what I do know is that it is an alluring piece of fine craftsmanship. It may fetch you a pretty penny or two.

[ Now there is a curious accent if ever she heard one. As a matter of fact, she doesn't recall having heard anything quite like it in the entirety of her life, which is why it takes her a moment to regain the majority of her bearings and begin recording her reply. ]

Were that what I seek, it would, ser...?

[Considering that this Archadian born doctor was trying his first attempt at faking an Rozarrian accent, Agrias wouldn't be at fault for taking such time to let the shock wash over her. Unlike others who've tried their hand at faking an accent or two, Cidolfus' little try at this is quite convincing despite how hilarious he may sound.]

Alejandro, dear. Dr. Alejandro.

I've had a run in with another individual who've possessed a mirror similar to that little artifact but he wasn't very cooperating fellow. However, he did state that this mirror was some sort of key to another world or such...

Don't ask me what he meant by that but I am more than willing to purchase that mirror from you.

That is...if you're offering to sell it.

[ Prior to beginning the recording of the message that follows, Agrias takes the time to turn the doctor's words over in her head. She doesn't have to; she knows well her answer to the his query as the decision has been made for her. That the mirror she holds in her hands might be some sort of key to another world, though, makes her pause and wonder... or rather, she would have wondered had she not banished the beginning of that train of thought before any cars could be added. ]

My apologies, Doctor, but the mirror is not mine to sell. Word has been given me of a potential, most probably definite owner. My station requires that I investigate this claim and, should it prove true, return it to its owner's hand. Curious though I may be as to its function, I can do naught else unless the claim proves false. I'm sure you understand my position.

[She peers at the mirror with great interest.]

That resembles an item discovered by a friend of mine, upon his arrival. He returned it to the Queen of Alexandria. If they are part of a set, then I believe it is she who owns them.

You have my thanks, Mjrn. Should this item belong to the queen of Alexandria and there be some monetary reward for its return, I shall see that you receive your portion.

[ A brief pause. ]

Might I inquire as to where your friend found the Artefact?

[She furrows her brow and stares downward a moment.]

I am not quite certain but I believe he discovered the item shortly after his arrival...Midgar, was it? Yet, the ruins do not belong to this world.

It was a mirror also, with a blue rim. The inscription read "My power is protected underwater, surrounded by the earth."

[ She turns her eyes downward to the mirror she holds securely in her hands. ]

Mayhaps they are part of a set. I can think of no other explanation for their similarities.

[ A smile graces Agrias' face as she looks to the machine again, to Mjrn. She's beginning to think it a poor substitute for true person-to-person, face-to-face communication; though, she doesn't say as much. She is truly thankful for the young woman's information, the sight of her unusual ears prompting the corners of her lips to turn still further upwards. ]

I am not. On the contrary, one might say this particular artefact saw fit to find me.

[ She doesn't think upon it beyond that and most certainly will not be quick to bring up how said artefact did exactly that. (What point is there in tempting fate? She is fortunate enough not to have been made to kiss ice-laden stone...) ]

One would think a treasure hunter such as yourself well-traveled. Know you the quickest way to Alexandria? Or perhaps someone who does?

It's way out there, but an airship would be fairly quick.

[ The look upon her face has not changed Locke. It will not change because really, an airship? ]

Then I shouldn't tell you about Edgar's diving castle.

[ Now she's skeptical. ]

[ The existence of an 'Edgar' is at least fathomable, but a diving castle? ]

[This isn't big news to Locke.]

[ In retrospect, Agrias thinks Narshe's tavernmaster might not have been as drunk as she'd supposed when he had spoken to her of flying ships. This she pushes aside momentarily. 'Airships' she had heard of from him, but diving castles? And... a king? ]

I was not aware the Edgar you spoke of was a king. If I may, of what land?

[ She pauses here perhaps a moment longer than she should, quite baffled by the treasure hunter's expansion upon the matter of King Edward's diving castle. Every castle she has encountered up to this point in her life has stood (or once stood) firmly upon solid ground. The same can be said of houses, shops, taverns -- just about any structure built by man that comes to mind really. ]

How is it that a castle may pick itself up and walk? I do not mean to be difficult, but the land from whence I hail knows neither diving castles, nor flying ships. Once upon a time mayhaps, but the present sees all activity upon land and atop the sea.

[Locke can't respond immediately because he's laughing so hard.]

Walk? I've never seen a castle walk either.

[As if everybody should know the following.]

[ Try though she might to make sense of the treasure hunter's claims, she isn't having much in the way of luck. Pausing again, she frowns, if only for a moment before righting her expression. ]

I fear my search for your friend have yielded no results. I required a translator to speak with the moogles who are truly native to Narshe and did acquire one, but from what I could gather, they have neither seen, nor heard from him in some time.

I shouldn't be surprised. He wouldn't have stayed quiet if he was here.

[Shaking off the conundrums.]

What a peculiar item! It looks to be a mere mirror but it holds such a ancient feel. Surely, there is someone who knows of this artifact. It is quite lovely, though!

If it is not something of great importance, then perhaps you wouldn't mind if someone was to purchase it?

[ Roughly ten minutes pass before Agrias begins recording her reply. Given how many times she has clashed with the forces of Duke Goltanna in past months, that particular shade of red was at first quite off-putting to the lady knight. Though the absence of black from his garb is as reassuring as the gentleness of his features and the innocence with which the inquiry is made, it does set the gears turning in her head. If she and Delita could find themselves in this 'Gaia', there is a chance anyone from their Ivalice could, including Princess Ovelia and powerful, influential figures of the Church and warring Lions.

'Think upon it later,' she breathes, a gloved hand moving to activate the device's video function. 'Later, not now.'

A nod is issued as the recording begins and she, with it. ]

Should the lord of the region in which I found the artefact agree, I would not mind.

[ She pauses briefly. ]

It seems, though, that the item is of some importance and does have an owner. Should this prove not the case, to whom would I speak regarding the matter?

Ah, I should have introduced myself sooner. The name is Edward Chris von Muir but feel free to refer to me by my given name.

[Eying the mirror seated within Agrias' hands, Edward looks a tad thoughtful as he continued to speak.]

You say that this item is important, if so...then perhaps it would be best for you to deliver it to its rightful owner after all.

While I do admit I'm quite fond of it's lavish decor, I rather not covet the belongs of another.

[ What pause was issued prior to the recording's start is long gone. Had they been in Ivalice, she might have questioned him with regards to his surname, but they are not. They are in Gaia and so she refrains; though, she does not miss the peculiarity about his introduction, nor his proper manners. Still, no title was given and the man does appear a bard, not a lord. ]
