[Accidentally turning on the sky phone once he brushed up against a nearby branch, the first thing anyone sees is just the darkness of his coat pocket. During the entire time of this static filled audio, a faint beep emanates from the sky phone.]

There is a boundless source of energy sitting right beneath my fingertips! Why haven’t I been alerted to such bounty before? Surely, someone must have known about the fascinating power that lies beneath the Iifa Tree’s core.

[A beeping of his sky phone finally captures the doctor’s attention and he reaches to pry it out. Smirking into the camera of the phone, Dr. Cidolfus points the camera away from him and over towards the glittering green liquid-like glow before him.]

It’s as powerful as the Mist lingers within the Four Jagds. Although, it seems quite different from anything I’ve studied before. This power…what is it?

[Something starts to glow within his right pocket of his coat. Catching the eerie glow from the corner of his eye, the doctor sets down the sky phone for a moment as he pries out a chuck of nethicite out.]

What is it? That light, it thirsts for this power!

[Raising the nethicite towards the turquoise glow of the Lifestream, the rock begins to shine even brighter once it began to siphon the magical energy before it. Drinking it’s power to its full, the nethicite actually floats from Cidolfus’ hands, hovering high above this endless mystical ocean of greens and blues.]

…This power, is it native to Gaia?

[If Vincent was pale before, he's positively white now. His jaw is clenched, and his whole body is stiff with tension. He looks faintly ill.]

[He killed this man. He remembers flashes of it- explosions, the feel of a gun in his hand and the recoil as he fired it, the feeling of fangs sinking into flesh, tearing, and blood in his mouth, on his face, warm and wet, the pleasure that raced through them as they destroyed...]

[With a faint sound, Vincent pressed a hand to his mouth, fighting down Chaos's gory memories. The lifestream is there. Is that how this happened? Why? The only person who had ever come back in that way was Sephiroth.]

The Lifestream... [The rasped words escape his mouth before he realizes that he had spoken them.]

[Trying to get a better look at this gloomy looking fellow, the doctor begins to wonder where he's seen this man before but his memory isn't all intact.]

The Lifestream, you say?

[There are no shouts of fear or calling upon gods. No threats to call the authorities and have him locked away or killed. The man only seems curious and a little bit confused. It throws Vincent for a loop, and for a moment he only stares at the man with a nonplussed look. He doesn't protest this sudden good fortune, though. He's so relieved that he lets the information slip]

Yes. It is the lifeblood of the Planet. When things die, they are absorbed into it, and all life comes from it.

[Cloud doesn't sound mad, just a little concerned.]

Vincent. You shouldn't tell him anything else.

I... [The concern in Cloud's voice gets through to him.] Of course. I was startled.

This... coming back to life. Is it a common occurrence here?

I understand. [He does. He's dealt with this issue before.]

Not... really. A lot of people died recently... there was an attack and well... only a select few came back. Most people didn't.

But it still happens. There is no surefire way of eliminating a person for good, then? [Hojo was here, and he was killed. What would happen if Hojo returned to life? If he and this Dr. Cidolfus joined forces?]

Not as far as I can tell. That's why I didn't kill Dr. Cid when we rescued Nanaki. I could've, but what difference would it make?

The people we don't want here just keep coming back...

The only fortunate thing I can see about this is that he doesn't remember what I did to him. There was only a small hint of recognition when he saw me.

Then we have to keep it that way.

...there won't be any more "demon attacks" soon, right?

It is not likely as long as I do not find myself battling for my life. [He is unwilling to even use his limit breaks at this point. Just because Chaos was the one that killed Cid doesn't mean that someone won't accuse one of the other demons of having done it, and by extension, him. Besides, he never knows what Chaos will do.]

[That sounds like the best plan.]

Then you'll just have to stay out of trouble. Don't go getting yourself killed, either.

I'll do my best. [He makes no promises, but he will try.]

[Still silently trying to figure our where he's seen this man before, Cidolfus' eyes nearly lit up once the fellow began to explain about that strange energy before him.]

This entity is the lifeblood of the planet? You mean to say, this is the actual blood of this world? It's energy?

It is comprised of the souls of the people of the Planet, so in a way it must be energy.

[His face hardens and becomes more closed. There is no glint of gold in his eyes, but there is certainly some anger there. He doesn't understand why the doctor is alive once again, but he's forced himself to get over the shock of it and stop blurting things out because he's stunned.] I would not suggest trying to experiment with it. Only ill can come of it.

Now just wait a moment, sir. Did you just say that this energy is comprised of living souls of actual men and women?

[A look of pure disbelief settles upon his aged face now.]

...My, that's rather interesting.

Everything that dies goes to the Lifestream. [In other words, yes.] It is a renewing cycle, and even sentient to an extent. When the Planet and the Lifestream are threatened, monsters have emerged from the depths on the planet to protect it. [The WEAPONS were a good thing to mention to try and discourage the man from trying to experiment with the Lifestream.]
