A Friendly Talk? [Action]

[Lingering about within the entrance of the Theater District of Lindblum, Aerith took a generous bite out of the Banora apple she plucked from a passing fruit stand. Waiting for the arrival of her two friends, the flower girl began to ponder ways to end the strife that has came between Nanaki and Cloud as of late.]

Those two better not have stood me up...[She sighs deeply.]

[Cloud had been quick to get his boots on and make his way to the Theater District. The blonde had left one sword back in the palace while the other is on his back. He's chosen to bring the First Tsurugi out with him this time.]

[Arriving, the blonde gives Aerith a small smile.]

Hey, is Nanaki here yet?

[ Nanaki had been in the Theater District the whole time. Curled up out of the way of the passing people (and their stares), the red creature flicked an ear. He could hear what sounded like his friends, but he wasn't really feeling up to finding them -- they would find him soon enough. It wasn't as though he didn't stand out a bit. ]

Hm? Hey, Cloud!

[Smiling back in return, Aerith was honestly glad that she found Cloud first before Nanaki did.]

Not sure but I know he told me that he was lingering around here for awhile. I think he's somewhere close by.

[Waving him along, the flower girl lead the way.]

How are you doing? Is Tifa treating you okay? How's Denzel? I know he must be feeling much better now.

[Cloud follows her, keeping close at her side with a slight smile. It's like old times, just him and Aerith walking around together. Let's hoep she doesn't take him to get another dress anytime soon.]

Tifa's fine, and Denzel's feeling a lot better. Marlene showed up when we were in Memoria and she's fine, too. She misses her dad, though...

[Notice how he never talks about how HE is?]

Nanaki's getting worse, isn't he?

[Better keep your eyes open for a good escape route because one day, she will put you in a dress again!]

Marlene, I spoke with her briefly during that Memoria mess. I really wish Barret was here, he would never leave her alone like this. [Glances over at Cloud since she did notice how he failed to answer her first question.]

N-no! I...well, he's seen better days but he'll be okay. I won't let anything happen to him.

[Cloud sighs and shakes his head, crossing his arms.]

Barret hasn't left her alone... I know I'm not the best choice for a dad, Marlene likes Vincent a lot... but I'm trying...

[He lets his gaze sadden for a moment but soon spots Nanaki and jogs over, crouching down to him.]

...Red...

[An actual frown appeared upon her face for she can tell that neither Cloud of Nanaki are doing well.]

Nanaki...? [Wanders over towards the two of them.] You look terrible!

You really should have just met us at the inn or castle. It's a little chilly out.

[ Nanaki blinks at Cloud. Was he coming...? He can't really remember now. ]

...Didn't want to move. I knew you would find me.

[ He's not going to tell them that he's worried he'll collapse again, like he did in Alexandria. ]

Nanaki. [Vincent's deep voice from behind Cloud and Aerith is unheralded by any sound of approach, as is usual for him.] Cloud. Aerith.

[He has been exploring Lindblum for the past few hours, mostly getting nervous tension from close contact with too many people out of his system. He might look the slightest bit cold. It doesn't matter.]

You should come inside somewhere, Nanaki.

[Cloud blinks at the deep voice then offers Vincent the smallest of nods as he stands.]

...you... want me to carry you? [That's directed at the unwell animal.]

[A bright smile settled upon her face once Vincent approached. It's been awhile since she's seen him.] Glad to see you again, Vincent.

I knew you was in Lindblum but I just didn't know where.

[Looks over to Nanaki again.] Cloud, be careful with him. He's really hurt.

Vincent. [ He's relieved; he'd spoken to his friend, but hadn't seen him until now. At Cloud's question, though, he frowns. ]

I might set you on fire.

[ He nods toward his tail; the tip is sparking now, the strange glow even clearer, as well as the sick black smoke rising from it. ]

[Vincent nods back to the three of them, lowering his face further into the collar of his cloak.]

If necessary, I will offer my assistance. [The claw made for a less than ideal situation, but it would be fine if he handled it carefully.] You would have an easier time holding your tail away from your body.

[Cloud crosses his arms as he stands, his eyes watching that weird glow. He sighs and looks at Aerith with what is quite obviously a worried look.]

If you can just hold your tail away, we should be okay.

[That eerie green glow certainly puts Aerith on edge but now isn't the time to fret. They had to get Nanaki indoors before he gets any sicker.]

Alright, I can do that.

[Wherever Dr. Cid is, Aerith hopes that something smites him for hurting Red like this.]

Nanaki, don't worry. You'll be as good as new in no time! [Kneels down besides the sickly feline so she can pet his dark brown mane.]

Just make sure not to burn me, okay? I like having all my fingers.

I'll try.

[ It's addressed to all three of them. He's exhausted, and it's completely unnatural. His mind feels fuzzy, clouded, and he's weak. He closes his eyes slightly as Aerith pets him; he knows that he shouldn't fall asleep like this, but he can't help shutting them for a moment. ]

[Vincent moved around the other two to crouch down by Nanaki's flank, resting his human hand lightly on the red fur. He doesn't do anything other than that, and looks to Cloud to coordinate picking Nanaki up.]

[Cloud crouches by Nanaki and slides his arms around the upper part of his torso.]

In three? One, two... three. [And lift.]

[Once Cloud lifted Red, Aerith rushed forward to grab the feline's tail. With that flame looking a tad dimmer now, Aerith really hoped she could heal the poor creature.]

[ Making a quiet noise as Cloud picked him up, Nanaki continued to let his eyes rest. Being carried like this was quite the blow to his pride, but it had to be done. ]

[Vincent hovers, helping to support Nanaki's weight, even though Cloud could probably manage to carry him on his own. He is careful with his gauntlet, avoiding using it if at all possible. He doesn't want to add a stab wound to Nanaki's many hurts.]

[Cloud takes the lead in heading for Lindblum's inn, discreetly nuzzling Nanaki's mane. He's missed him. He's worried about him. Still, he doesn't need Aerith cooing over him being a softy, and he knows Vincent wouldn't say a word about it anyway.]

[Following along with Cloud in the lead, Aerith gently holds on to Nanaki's tail to make sure the lion doesn't accidentally burn him or her. Studying the sickly green glow of Nanaki's tail flame, Aerith starts to doubt if she can fully heal him or not.]

It's like Shinra all over again...

[ Nanaki opens his eyes at Aerith's words. ]

You would think I would have learned.

You know not to trust Shinra. new scientists were no part of that. [It's basically Vincent's way of saying "You aren't stupid for getting hurt this way." Dr. Cid was completely unknown to all of them before this, there would have been no way for them to know that the man was another mad scientist.]

It's not like we knew he was a madman.

Not all scientists are, just the ones we meet. [A small attempt at a very dry joke. Feel free to tell him how not-funny he is.]

[She frowned at Nanaki once he opened his eyes again.] Don't say that...

Just as Vincent said, its not like you knew he was going to hurt you. None of us know anything regarding the people and the land here.

Gaia is so new and so foreign to us because we are merely unwanted visitors here.

[She was just about to let out a little sigh until she heard Cloud's wise crack.]

Oh, ha-ha! I guess we do have some really bad luck when it comes down to scientists. I bet they're evil because of all the studying and tests they have to do in college!

[ He laughs, just a bit. It's hoarse. ]

We're close. [The castle isn't that far up ahead.]
