[Well howdy do, have a face that hasn't been seen for a while! Looks like someone's just been hiding away while he's been getting over some things.]

Anyone know if we can learn magic around here? I really miss my materia and if something were to happen I'd wanna be prepared. It's not all brute strength, believe it or not.

In other news, I sure could get to knowing some new people. It sucks being cooped up in an empty house.

If you are a soldier who cannot use magic, you probably are one! Do you wield a sword?

Huh. Yeah, I do.

Being a knight is a noble calling. You should buy yourself a quality weapon and armour and focus on your strengths. A knight cannot learn magic, but there is a way to use it...

If you have an ally who is a black mage, you can team up with them to cast spells by channelling magic into your sword. I have found it immensely useful myself!

Yeah, I got all that, but back home I could use magic just fine, and not just while it was equipped to my sword.

[And he has no idea what a black mage is, so...]

Well, you'll have to get used to the way things work here. There is no point in wishing for the way things are in your world.

So we've got limitations, huh. That's troubling.

Troubling? Why? Only the maniacal wish for absolute power!

But the well-prepared wish for the best possible situation so they don't get themselves killed.

Hmph. True. If you learn all the skills you can as a knight, then you will be as well-prepared as you can possibly be.

Now...how do you go about finding out if someone's...one of these mage things?

A black mage? Ask them!

Can you tell just by lookin' at 'em? I'd feel awful silly running around askin' people.

Black mages wield a staff. If you see anyone wearing robes and a pointy hat, that is also a good sign.

...Right.

I've heard that the Sky People arrive here from different times. The same rule appears to apply for places.

I guess so. Any idea how accessible it is? My curiosity might be piqued to see it again.
