[Cloud is seated on the edge of the docks, bright blue sky and equally as blue ocean behind him, the clouds in the sky a crisp white and the sunshine bright and warm. Of course, Cloud is dressed all in dark colours with a scowl on his face. No, not even sunshine can make him cheerful.]

I want to just set something straight. Jihl Nabaat has claimed that there are five people who are looking to destroy worlds, called them l'Cie and said they're all dangerous. She's right and wrong.

They are l'Cie, people who were made by something called a fal'Cie, and these ones were given the mission to destroy a city on their world called Cocoon. She's wrong when she says they're destructive. They don't want to destroy Cocoon. I know Lightning Farron. I trust her. She's not going to try to destroy this world.

All they want to do is go home, like the rest of us. Hope and Lightning's sister are still young, and I've spoken to Snow as well. He's not a bad person. I can't say either way about their friend, Fang, but she has to be trustworthy for Lightning to be her friend.

I'm not going to let them become victims. The l'Cie are not monsters.

[Cloud cuts the feed there, though he's not even sure if what he's said will work.]




[Filtered to AVALANCHE and the l'Cie.]
[The video comes on and Cloud looks considerably tense, more so than usual, and the proof is that he rolls his shoulders lightly.]

AVALANCHE needs to be aware that the l'Cie named by Lt. Commander Jihl Nabaat are not going to hurt us. I've spoken to Lightning and Jihl, I've heard both stories, and I'm going to believe Lightning. Jihl sounds just like someone from ShinRa, with a stick up her ass too.

Don't start panicking over whether I've let monsters into AVALANCHE. I haven't. I wouldn't.

[By this point Cloud is making his way back towards the residential area of Luca. He doesn't look particularly happy, but does he ever?]

I don't know how well it will go, but I made a message to the Heads of State about what Jihl said. You should have seen the message to AVALANCHE already.

Lightning, I trust you, but if you're lying I'll deal with you myself. Just fair warning.
